They had Rami Malek to play Freddy and in my eyes he was the best for the job. He did the whole thing justice and he should win lots of awards as actor and also the movie should do very well during award season.

By various things actually, two of which are cinema-related and hard to replicate at home. First of all it was the atmosphere in the packed cinema, as a non-native there was almost a sense of religion and cultural heritage from the very diverse crowd all solemnly coming out to see about good old Freddy.
Secondly, we were even more overwhelmed by the music and the Wembley performance in particular, simply phenomenal and unprecedented to experience in an intimate manner on the big screen.
Thirdly there is acting, much will have been said about that. About Rami Malek in particular. But I would just leave it at how well the actors have been cast given their very close likeness.
And the fourth thing that really stood out is the storyline and tone of the movie; it could have been progressively dark story slipping towards a dramatic end, in the style of Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse ect..
So you get very little of that. Instead, the movie has more uplifting tone and it is more is about creative genius, a band career, friendship and reconciliation.
That if anything it is a big celebration of Queen. With, as a result, a more family- friendly movie than it could have been.
Yet the outcome remains a pretty solid and endearing biographical movie AND one that I was looking forward to watch again with my young daughter that has shown great interest to see it as well.
The video and audio quality of the blu ray is outstanding, it looked really great on our fairly large oled screen, with the Wembley performance a perfect showcase for our reasonably high-end surround set up.

Voor de film hebben ze het originele zang en muziekwerk van Queen gebruikt. Ondanks dat deze film grotendeels niet echt probeert over te komen als een concert gebruiken ze veel bekende liedjes van Queen als de soundtrack van de film op de achtergrond.
Door de bekendheid van de liedjes wil je als kijker toch wel op een manier meebewegen met de muziek door bijvoorbeeld met je voeten of handen mee te tikken op de beat of mee te playbacken.
De scenes waar Queen optreed zijn ook op een manier gefilmd, waardoor het aanvoelt alsof je zelf aanwezig bent bij het concert.
Het acteerwerk wordt ook goed gedaan in de film. Bij Rami Malek moet je even wennen aan zijn uiterlijk als Freddie Mercury, maar wanneer je eenmaal gewend bent aan zijn uiterlijk komt hij realistisch over als Freddie Mercury.
Dit komt ook omdat hij goed op de persoonlijke details heeft gelet van Freddie Mercury en hij deze ook goed weet over te brengen.
Qua spraak en beweging, komt hij ook op een gelijke manier over zoals Freddie dit deed. Gedurende de gehele film heeft hij namelijk ook een kunstgebit in om het unieke gebit van Freddie Mercury realistisch over te brengen.
